Slightly behind on getting our pictures posted…
For Earth Day this year we participated in one of Model Environment’s core initiatives, preventing litter from entering oceans.
Picking it up before it has a chance to end up in drains, rivers and waterways is one of our favorite contribution to keeping this planet safe and healthy for all inhabitants. It is very important to bring awareness to the side effects of a wasteful society. So much of what we always find is single-use items. This time was no exception. The usual littered suspects- plastic bottles, straws, plastic bags, styrofoam cups, plastic bottles, cigarette butts, chip bags and because there are so many we will mention it again… plastic bottles. Thank you to all the volunteers who made an immediate impact for the health of earth.
Jasmina collected litter in Los Angeles. Brooke and Lisa were on a hike in Tennessee and picked up on the trails at Fall Creek Falls. The rest of us cleaned along the Tennessee River near Ditto Landing in Huntsville, Alabama. Here are a couple of adorable videos we posted on Instagram of Jasmina and Katie strutting their stuff with litter they collected. We LOVE models for earth!
