Hello! Sunday October 27 Model Environment and Eluxe Magazine volunteers will be picking up littered cigarette butts in Los Angeles, New York and Paris. Our goal is to see which city can collect the most butts in an hour and to ignite action in others to care for our environment. Did you know that cigarette butts are the number one littered item collected on International Coastal Cleanup Day? (Over 2 million cigarette butts collected in one day.)
ME and Eluxe will be collecting the butts at the exact same time 8:30 am in LA, 11:30 am in Brooklyn and 5:30 pm in St. Germain district of Paris. Each location will collect butts for one hour. If you would like to join us in any of the three participating locations we would love to have you.
Los Angeles meet at 8:15 am on the north east corner of Wilshire and Western (across from the Wiltern Theater). Jasmina Hdagha and Christy Beck will be leading this pick up around Koreatown.
New York meet at 11:15 am at McCarren Park at the Bedford and North 12th Street entrance. Peter Johnson will be leading this location.
Paris meet at 5:15 pm in the St. Germain district. The Editor in Chief of Eluxe Magazine, Chere Di Boscio, is leading this location.
IMPORTANT things to remember:
1. Please bring gloves.
2. Pick up at your own risk. Safety first PLEASE. Be aware of your surroundings and do not put yourself in harms way to collect litter.
3. We will use the images and video footage to promote keeping trash from being littered.
If you have any question about our event or want to join us in LA or NYC please email christy@nullwww.modelenvironment.com. To join the Paris location please email Chere Di Boscio at info@nulleluxemagazine.com.
