Drains lead to more water. Please stop litter before it gets to waterways.
All beings deserve a safe and clean home. We have three efforts to help clean this planet. Our Pick It Up campaign is an ongoing effort to remove litter from nature. Before & After is a visually impressive effort to show you how you can make an immediate positive impact! Oil and water do not mix that is the basic message from Dockwalkers. They are advocates for clean boating practices.
Please enjoy our photo galleries and get involved where you can.
Pick it Up
The goal of the Pick It Up campaign is to remove as much litter and waste from our environment as possible to prevent it from washing down storm drains and into our oceans and waterways. Whether you make an event of it and Pick It Up as a group or whether you do it solo, getting involved and picking up litter is always an immediately effective way to make a difference and protect our plant.
Before & After
Dockwalkers
The California Department of Boating & Waterways trains Dockwalkers to distribute educational information on environmentally sound boating practices. Model Environment is grateful to bring awareness to the program by connecting clean water advocates, Nina Smidt, Helene Traasavik and Carla Houston, to the Dockwalking program. Because of our involvement of connecting these clean water advocates Model Environment was recognized by the Los Angeles Sustainability Collaborative and the City of Los Angeles!
